Perennial exchange 2001 |

Every spring, Leila hosts an afternoon
for friends (and friends of friends) to exchange perennials. Although the date
changes a bit from year to year, she somehow manages to pick the weekend with
ideal weather most years!
The exchange gives everyone a good reason to get into our gardens to split up some of the more vigorous perennials. Just collect the remainders and drive out for a pleasant afternoon of visiting and swapping tips. As a result, our area is sprinkled with survivors of everyone else's gardens: plants that do well, survive; better perhaps due to their new caretakers having had the opportunity to learn first-hand about their particular preferences and habits.
