Hike to Sharp Peak in Hong Kong

It's a pretty steep climb down to the beach 465m below!

In the Sai Kung East Country Park - almost as far east as you can get in Hong Kong - Sharp Peak rises 468 metres from the South China Sea. Not tall as mountains go but when you are at the peak, the beach below is mighty close horizontally!

Although buses run to Sai-Kung and mini-buses from there to Pak Tam Au where the trail starts, we'd decided to ease the logistics and hire a guide for the day. So, bright and early, we were picked up at our hotel by Hong Kong guide Paul Etherington and whisked out of the city environs in his minivan.

We had a great hike: about 15 kms in 7 hours. Here are some of the images.
